What’s eSIM?

eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your device. It lets you connect to a Belong mobile service without a physical SIM card.

What are the benefits of eSIM?

eSIMs provide more flexibility than traditional SIM cards.

They’re quick and easy to install online, meaning you don’t need to order a SIM card.

You can use multiple eSIMs on one device. That means you can have multiple phone numbers on one device if you like. You can also use a physical SIM card alongside eSIMs.

Can I use an eSIM with Belong?

If you’re on a Belong mobile or data-only plan, you can swap from a physical SIM to an eSIM via My Account. Eventually, you will be able to select an eSIM for a new service activation.

How to swap from a physical SIM to an eSIM

  1. Log into your account via the Belong website or app.

  2. Select ‘Manage service’ for the service you’re moving to eSIM.

  3. Open ‘Move to a new eSIM’.

  4. Click on ‘Swap to eSIM’.

  5. Follow the prompts for your device.

When moving to an eSIM, it’s recommended to install the Belong mobile app. You can download it from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store .

What devices can use an eSIM?

Most phones produced post 2020 are eSIM compatible (or dual SIM). Devices purchased overseas may not be eSIM compatible.

If you’re unsure if you have an eSIM compatible device, dial *#06#. An eSIM compatible device will display an EID number which is 32 digits long. Alternatively confirm compatibility with your manufacturer.

Can I activate a new service using eSIM?

Not right now. You can only move an active service over to eSIM. We’re working on changing that. Stay tuned.
